Trimming Dead Ends
Trimming your split is very crucial to preventing breakage. Its the number 1 thing that everyone should do to prevent breakage. I get my hair trimmed every 2-3 months. It does vary depending on the factors. like heat styling, bleaching, how you protect your hair etc..
Not getting your ends does more harm to the hair. once you have split ends they can travel up the hair shaft and causing breakage. Blocking the growth of your hair. This effects several things. for instance your hairstyles will not come out how they should, could be stiff and choppy. Makes your hair dry and brittle
Moral of the story is find someone that can trim your end every 2-3 months you don’t have to go to them every 2 weeks to get your hair done. this haircare treatments will teach you how to maintain you hair until its time for another trim.
2. Deep Conditioning
A nourishing deep conditioner treatment will add moisture back in to the air. Over time the hair accumulates build up from products and weather conditions. Deep conditioning will help soothe the hair shaft and repair damage. Natural shine will be added back into the hair.
I personally deep condition my hair once a month and sit under a dryer for 30 mins. This allows heat to get to the scalp and open the cuticles allowing goodness to seep inside the structure of the hair.
they have a portable dryer that is less than 20 dollars that does the same thing the hooded dryer do. If your doing this from home like me I recommend buying this product. When you go to the salon your stylish uses a dryer when they are deep conditioning your hair. So most likely you wanna do the same things they do
3. Leave-In Conditioner
You can apply leave in conditioner on dry and freshly washed hair. If you do this consistently it locks in moisture daily and prevents future damage. I apply it when I have my hair in it’s natural state, or when I need to replenish my hair as it leaves my hair feeling hydrated. I also add a hair oil on top for extra moisture.
4. Protein Treatment
These treatment’s are very beneficial. You can make a homemade protein treatment or buy one. For homade treatments, I use eggs and mayo. It’s a simple fix and gets the job done.
These treatments improve hair elasticity, reduces split ends, and makes hair more manageable. When you hair starts to look stingy or your experiencing breakage/shedding you should consider a protein treatment.
Doing this treatments improves hair elasticity, Reducing split ends and breakage, Hair becomes more manageable, and reduces frizz.
5. Silk Head Wrap
Lastly, I can not stress enough the importance of sleeping in a silk head wrap or on a satin pillowcase. Silk protects your hair better than a cotton
Silk head wrap prevents hair from breakage, keeps you hair moisturized and tangle free. On the other hand cotton takes all the moisture out and the friction while you move around in your sleep. Can cause breakage to the ends leaving you hair dry.
Also you can use a silk pillow case. If you ever forget to put you headwrap on. At least you have your pillow case to keep it safe.
